About me

My name is Gemma and for as long as I can recall I've always wanted to work with dogs. I'm a qualified professional dog trainer, and have studied under the watchful eye of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers), APDT qualified 2013 as a student member and holding my membership for 5 years. I'm working on extending this qualification to a full member in 2018.

I love dogs, photography, travel and anything to do with the natural world. I like to think of myself as a fun person and I enjoy bringing happiness to my family and friends whenever I can. Dogs are a massive part of my life and have been for as long as I can remember, I simply can't pass one by without saying hello. I bring my energy and fun nature into my classes... learning must be fun for everyone and free from pressure.

When I was just 15 years old I had my first Saturday job, it was washing dogs at a local grooming parlour, which I loved! Some dogs really enjoyed the wash but others were much less pleased with the experience, but the best part was waiting for the owners to return to collect their pooch, both were always so happy to see one another. The dogs were smelling great, looking great and looking forward to going home....for some treats no doubt! I knew then I wanted to be more involved with my canine friends but what meant more to me was their welfare.
